Immerse yourself in French history with this magnificent complete collection of 12 Gien earthenware plates. Covered in a deep, lustrous olive green monochrome honey glaze, these pieces feature raised decorations (barbotine) depicting the most famous Châteaux of the Loire Valley (Amboise, Chinon, Azay-le-Rideau, Chenonceau, Langeais, etc.). A prestigious series combining the expertise of an exceptional manufacturer and the charm of Loire Valley living.
Please note that the matching Chambord platter is visible in the last 2 photos and is available in the shop for a complete set.
🔍 Details & Condition:
This set is a special edition created by Gien for the 25th anniversary of "L'Anjou Vinicole" company in Vihiers (49). It consists of 12 plates with various motifs.
Manufacturing date: Circa 1960-1970 (Gien France stamp with the three-tower castle).
The set is in very good condition.
No chips or cracks.
Note: Please observe the photos carefully as they are an integral part of the description. This piece is in beautiful vintage condition. It has gracefully aged over the years and bears its marks, including a beautiful craquelure (crazing) of the glaze in places, an authentic signature of Gien ceramics from this era (see photos).
